Calling all writers!

Dear readers,

It's quite obvious that this is a new site/blog (there are some things that just take time!). Because I'm new to the art/career of blogging and writing for a living (a girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do to survive, right?), I'm asking you for help.

If you have an original article written by you that you'd like to post on the blog, please contact me! I'd be glad to post anything you guys would like to see on the blog. It would help me out a lot (I'm trying to make the time to work on the site more), and it would give you a chance to show off some of your writing skills!

So if you're interested, please email me at: thephantomphiles@gmail.com.

Love Should Not Divide

Dear Reader,

We have all heard about "Love Never Dies", the sequel to our beloved "Phantom of the Opera". We all have our own opinions of it; some love it, some hate it, some are undecided or are in-between. Because of this, the Phandom has been split into two parts: those who hate LND, and those who don't.

This split in the Phandom is not healthy, and we -as Phans- need to join together and diminish the separation that has formed in our little community.

"How do we do this?"

Simple. Already, several different people from both Love Shouldn't Die and Love Should Die have joined together and formed a small community titled "Love Should Not Divide". It's a place where both LND-lovers and LND-haters can go and talk about their opinions, thoughts, ideas, and views on Love Never Dies without having to worry about being flamed.

Do your part to heal the gap and join today!

Things To Come

This post contains some things that I eventually plan on adding to the blog as more traffic comes in.

~Different pages. I may eventually create a page specifically for Love Never Dies, and a separate one for stage PotO, movie PotO, etc.

~Donation button. Like I've stated before, this blog is something that I eventually want to be able to make money from; it's not my first big priority, but it is a goal nonetheless. By donating to my blog, you would be helping me out a lot, and giving me more time to dedicate to making the blog a better place!

~Link section. Since this is a Phantom blog, I do plan on having links to different forums, articles, and wesites related to Phantom and LND. ~Personalized banner and background. This will be a priority at the moment; it will help my blog to stand out and be more...well, customized. Those are the four main things I plan on doing within the next few weeks! Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see.

P.S This post was published on accident as a blank, and since I'm on a mobile device, I don't have the option to delete it; so I had to write up a whole post instead and save it as an edit!

Just a brief update, in order to bring more traffic to my blog, I've linked it to a Twitter account.

Technical Abouts/Blog Rules

If you (the reader) are anything like I am, you probably have a hard time navigating blogs and figuring out how the widgets work. This post isn't Phantom related, but I think it's needed to have a post that explains some of the workings of the blog.

The Polls: Depending on how popular they become, I plan on changing the polls every week. I tested them out, and you don't need a Google account (or any other account, for that matter) to participate in them. Only one submission per person.

Followers: I have put two options for following my blog. One is the standard "Follow" option that Google offers. However, in order to use that function, you have to have a Google account. I understand that not everyone wants to have/already has a Google account, but I still wanted them to be able to follow my blog; so I've added the "follow by email" option. It's really simple: type your email address into the box, click the submit button, and then do the spam check that will open in a different window. An email will be sent to that account, and you have to click on the link in that email in order to activate the subscription. It should work after that!

"Phantom Phorums": If you scroll down to the bottom of the blog, one of the widgets down there allows you to ask a question, and will allow other people to answer. I've put a question down about how I can improve my blog; you should just be able to type in a comment and post it without being signed in to any Google account.

Mobile Viewers: Because people are becoming more technologically advanced, it is not uncommon that people do most or all of their Internet browsing using a mobile device (i.e Android phone, iPod Touch). For this reason, I have installed the blog so that when you view the blog on a mobile device, it automatically detects this and switched the site to the mobile version. I tested this using my iPod Touch, and it works perfectly for me. Please let me know if you have a problem viewing it on a non-Apple mobile device.

Rules and Tips on The Philer's Blog

1. While I don't have the comment moderator on, I have all rights to delete any spam comments, inappropriate, or otherwise offensive comments. I will not, however, edit any comments.

2. I don't believe in moderating/editing out/filtering swear words, because every person is different. However, I will not tolerate any swearing or cursing directly pointed towards another blog visitor.

3. Phantom of the Opera covers a lot of dark and sometimes disturbing topics, so I will warn you now that some posts/articles might contain NC-17/Rated M material. You have been warned.

4. While it isn't absolutely necessary to have a Google account in order to use the blog, I highly suggest using one; it will be easier to access and follow the blog, as well as give you complete access to all of the blog's features.

5. As I am a newbie/amateur blogger, I'm using a free blog hosting website (Blogger). Because of this, I do not have control over any ads that may show up on the site. In the future, I plan on permanently transferring the blog to its own site with its own domain; until then, please make do with any Google Ads that might show up. I cannot control, and do not take responsibility for them.

6. It is my dream/goal to one day make blogging my career. Because of this, I am eager to make a little money by putting my creativity, time, and effort into this blog. In the future, I plan on installing a program which will allow you, the reader, to make any donations to the blog. I will write about this at a future time, but it's just a heads up --I am into this not only for the personal pleasure I get from writing, but also for supporting myself.

7. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find a problem on the blog. As it is a new site, it will be undergoing a lot of changes constantly. Please stick with me on this. If you have a problem, question, comment, or suggestion, please email me at: thephantomphiles@gmail.com.

8. As a way to get readers involved (and to gain more traffic to my blog), I am offering for other Phantom Phans to write articles/blog posts for the blog. If you are interested in any way (this could look good on a resume/transcript, and is a good way to practice your writing skills and letting the world see them!), you can email me at: thephantomphiles@gmail.com.

9. I do have the right to moderate and edit any articles written by other posters, for use of swear/curse words, inappropriate content, and invalid information. This is done to protect the reputation of myself and the blog. However, that is the only reason things will be edited/moderated;

10. In response to #9, you have my word that I will not change, edit, or moderate any article/blog post posted by another merely because I disagree with what was said, or because I have a personal problem with the poster.

The Phantom Philes: A Blog

Welcome one and all to my blog!

I'd like to introduce myself. I'm the Philer, and this is my little blog. I'm an aspiring writer, and it is my dream to one day be the host of an amazing, popular Phantom of the Opera blog. It's a big dream, but I think with a little creativity and a lot of work, I can make it!

This is a place where I can and will post my personal reviews, the reviews of others, news, updates, and media concerning Phantom of the Opera. If you'd like to write a post for my blog, go ahead and contact me at thephantomphiles@gmail.com, or by commenting on this blog post. I'd love to have you!

Please note that since this is an extremely new blog, and I'm still a newbie when it comes to blogging, this blog will be undergoing a lot of changes in the next few weeks. If you have any complaints, suggestions, or general comments, please contact me at the email I stated above, or by commenting on this blog post.

Expect more to come!
